Permit.io was founded after we found ourselves building Identity Access Management (IAM) mechanisms again and again at the companies we were working at, instead of focusing on core business development.

Since most companies still do that today, we built a full-stack authorization platform that makes it quick for developers to bake fine-grained access control into their products — RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC — and give the rest of the organization a low-code editor on top of policy as code.

Software is more interconnected and more automated. Agents are now first-class callers of the same APIs. We provide the authorization infrastructure for that future: one policy plane for users, services, and agents, so teams stop reinventing these building blocks.
